How come everyone is going so nuts over this Acai Berry juice diet?

I can’t figure out what the big deal is. So it’s from South America and all, what makes that so special?

Marketers of these products make non-proven claims that açaí provides increased energy levels, improved sexual performance, improved digestion, detoxification, high fiber content, improved skin appearance, improved heart health, improved sleep, and reduction of cholesterol levels. Açaí has higher levels of antioxidants, which are claimed to promote health, than cranberry, orange, and apple juices, but less than Concord grape, blueberry, and black cherry juices. Absolutely untrue claims include reversal of diabetes and other chronic illnesses, as well as expanding size of the penis and increasing men’s sexual virility and sexual attractiveness to women. Açaí is most commonly marketed as a weight loss product.

As of March 2009, there are no controlled studies backing up any of these claims

It really does have a lot of antioxidants and can help people have more energy and improve the immune system. My family drinks MonaVie and I don’t feel the energy boost but I’m also really young, 18. My grandpa had been bald on the top of his head for the last 15 years, the only thing differently he’s done is drink mona vie and his hair is getting thicker on the top of his head!, he also had diabete’s and it has helped him maintain sugar levels, I have no idea how but I know its true because my family wouldn’t lie to me. I dont care if you believe me or not either. If i was trying to sell it to you I would give you links and stuff but I’m not.
So I’ll tell you about the most incredible thing that i’ve seen monavie do. My mothers best friend was diagnosed with breast cancer, she had three tumors. One was a lot bigger than the other two. She already drank monavie but she sure upped her dosage when she found that out, started drinking like 3 bottles a week. By the time she was ready for Chemo the two smaller tumors were gone and thanks to chemo the largest one was gone. She is now in remission.

Once again, believe it or not, even if its just in peoples heads it makes them better and healtier somehow. Of course there are going to be people on both ends that think its a crock of Sh** and the others that do try it to see what its like before they bag it down.
And if its helpful and someone can make money off of it, they will take advantage of it. Simple as that.

Being a long time Acai user I can emphatically say “YES!” Acai juice has made a dramatic difference in my life. It’s the first thing I have to drink every morning and it gives me enough energy to accomplish all of my goals each day.
